In order to receive the results of any medical investigations concerning yourself e.g. blood tests, x-rays, please contact the reception staff via email: [email protected], or by telephone during opening hours on 01792 653992.
Please note that not all tests take the same time to come back to the GP practice so please ensure that all the tests you have are back with us. Our reception team will not always be able to advise you which tests you have had, so please ensure that you check with the doctor what tests you are having and why the tests are being performed, prior to leaving the consultation.
Please leave at least one week before telephoning for the results unless the doctor has requested them urgently or advised you otherwise.
If you have specialist tests or tests such as calprotectin or helicobacter pylori, these can take over 2 weeks for the results.
Our doctors mark the tests with the following actions:
- “Normal” Results requiring no action as Normal
- Satisfactory (no action or see comments) – These can be slightly abnormal results not in the normal range but no action is required. Occasionally a brief comment will be added about your condition.
- Routine appointment Slightly or significantly abnormal results requiring routine action, there may be a brief explanation in the comments section.
- Urgent doctors appointment The staff member arrange for a call with a doctor within a specified time frame.
- Repeat test This can be due to an issue with the test itself for example, the bottle has leaked in transit, or there may be an issue with the result, for example; there may be a slight abnormality which just needs to be rechecked.
